I don’t ask for much when it comes to a lunchtime burger and fries. The patty should be thick, the toppings should be fresh and the fries should be hot.
However, when Marco gets into the kitchen to make one of his Famous $10 burger combos, he blows the lid off every expectation!
Not only was the patty thick, juicy and cooked to perfection, but the toppings were crisp and bright. The bun was massive, soft, yielding — and dusted with sesame seeds, which I haven’t seen for a while.
The fries were crisp and cooked to order, then dusted with a delectable seasoning salt. Finger-lickin’ good.
Root beer rounded off my hefty lunch. My only regret was leaving the $3 beer untried.
I’ve heard equally delighted reports of Marco’s Famous donairs, made with tzatziki or sweet sauce.
A cool, comfortable bistro, across from Grant Mac and within walking distance of pretty well everything, Marco’s promises to remain famous for a long time.
