The Halifax Mooseheads are currently expecting 49 players at training camp next month, including 28 rookies.
Training camp opens Thursday, Aug. 16, at Cole Harbour Place, with a two-day rookie camp followed by a home-and-home pre-season rookie series with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Veterans don’t report until Monday, Aug. 20.
Twenty players coming to camp spent last season at the QMJHL level.
The Mooseheads have scrapped their popular intra-squad games and replaced them with practices — one in the evening on Thursday, Aug. 16, and two on Friday, Aug. 17. The first round of cuts will occur on Monday, Aug. 20.
