The Halifax Mooseheads saw their average attendance increase by 1,277 this season according to the QMJHL’s final numbers.
The Mooseheads drew an average of 6,608 per game at the Metro Centre, second in the league to the Quebec Remparts’ 11,724.
That ends a trend of three-straight declining attendance averages. Following the team’s three-round playoff run in 2007-08, attendance declined by an average of 2,225 per game from 2008-09 to 2010-11. Last season’s average of 5,331 was the lowest since the franchise’s first two seasons in the QMJHL in 1994-95 and 1995-96.
