Lunch specials for $10 are irresistible, especially from a new Chinese restaurant already creating a buzz.

But we first check out appetizers. The Spring Roll ($1.99) has fresh and crunchy veggies inside a light, crispy shell.  The Jincheng Wonton Soup ($3.99 small) is steaming hot, loaded with wontons and bok choy and has a serious kick.

Gongbao Chicken with Peanuts is a nicely presented large serving on a bed of white rice.

The menu indicates it’s spicy, but my pal requests a less potent version. It’s still delicious with chunks of tender chicken, crisp carrots and red and green peppers, adorned with a handful of peanuts. My Shredded Pork on rice is also satisfying, mixed with onions, crispy red and green peppers, and seaweed.  The pork is well done, but still tender and flavourful.

Service, however, needs improvement -— we must request napkins and chopsticks — to match the tasty food.
