Perhaps most popular for its weekend brunch, people often forget that this cute little diner can hit the spot for a weekday lunch, too.

Diner Deluxe has that retro, 1950s feel to it. It’s a a place where bursting out in a spontaneous musical number from Grease would not be totally inappropriate.

Musical inclinations aside, I came by here for lunch while snowflakes were falling freely outside, so I was looking for something that could quickly warm me up.

I settled for Diner Deluxe’s Yukon Gold Potato Pancake topped with cilantro sour cream and farmer’s pork sausage ($12.95). The pancake was a huge crispy cake of potato goodness and the reliable freshness from the cilantro cut through the heaviness of the potatoes.

My lunch mate opted for the pulled pork hash ($14.95) topped with grainy mustard.

I mean, who wouldn’t want some pulled pork served in an iron skillet on a snowy day?

Needless to say, we left blissfully full.
