This week, I thought it would be great to get a little dim sum action in honour of Chinese New Year. U & Me, in Chinatown, is undoubtedly the place to go.

Sadly, I can’t list every one of the hundred dishes (slight exaggeration) we devoured, but here’s a few highlights.

U & Me’s Steamed BBQ Pork Buns ($4.25) are a classic choice that never disappoints.

The Salt and Pepper Squid ($7.95) was my personal favourite, in all its deep-fried delicious glory.

We also shared an order of Steamed Spareribs ($4.25) that were served with chunks of squash in a sweet black bean sauce.

Visually, they were not beautiful, but the taste made up for it!

Sadly, U & Me does not have a dim sum cart rolling around, so it kind of loses that spontaneous ‘grab off the cart’ kind of magic, but I’ll take quality over spontaneity any day.
