This place certainly has character. Granted, with a name like Bumpy’s, you need some atmosphere to compensate. It’s like naming your daughter Olga. She better have a great personality, right?

Bumpy’s is popular in the early mornings for its coffee and delicious muffins. But coming here for lunch was a first for me.

I decided on the Grilled Chicken, Apricot and Brie Panini ($8) with the feature soup, Chipotle Chicken ($3). My date ordered the Tofu and Veggie Panini ($8). Oh, vegetarians…

My sandwich arrived, hot and crispy, as a good panini should. It was filled appropriately with chicken, brie and apricot preserve. Brie and apricot are a classic combination, so there was no disappointment here.

The soup could have been a bit more hearty, but the broth had a nice heat by way of the chipotle peppers.

As for the tofu sandwich, I’ll try a bite of that next time…
