Rain or shine, snow or sun, beef or pork, I’m a huge fan of barbecue.
Luckily for me, and all other barbecue lovers, The Palomino Smokehouse dishes out some of the best in Calgary.
Aside from the reliable tastiness factor of a great barbecue-centric joint, I love the fact that it always smells so good inside!
The pulled pork lasagna ($13) is as delicious as it sounds. Alternating layers of noodles and tomato sauce filled with vegetables and a ton of pulled pork are baked in the oven with a healthy portion of cheese on top.
After a couple bites, you’ll wonder why your mother never thought of adding slow-cooked pork to your family dinner lasagnas.
I did wish for a bit more smoky, barbecue flavour in the dish. Luckily, there was a bottle of sweet babeque sauce on the table so I could cover each bite to my liking.
