I am glad to announce that this city finally has a quality grab-and-go pizza joint.

GAGA Pizzeria opened up a few months ago on the corner of 12th Ave. S.W. and 12th St. S.W. and is dishing out some great Italian-style pizza as well as sandwiches and sweets, all at a great price.

Sadly, I was dateless this lunch hour and wouldn’t be able to tote any leftover pizza with me that day, so I went for the Calzone ($7.99).

It was filled with capicola ham, sausage, olives, mushrooms and cheese (of course).

The sweet tomato sauce was true to Italy ­— simple and fresh. The dough was golden and crispy, yet soft on the inside — as it should be! Probably the best calzone I’ve ever had.

The only disappointment I experienced with this lunch outing was that, contrary to its name, this pizzeria is not owned by Lady Gaga…
