A Vietnamese airline’s mid-flight bikini show received a turbulent reception from the country’s aviation authority.
Vietjet Air says the parade of bikini-clad beauty queens before a gallery of smartphones, cameras and pleased passengers was a stunt to commemorate the five-year-old airline’s maiden flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, making the promotion mildly ironic as well as potentially scandalous.
However, state media reports that Vietnam’s Civil Aviation Administration was not at all happy with the in-air raciness, slapping Vietjet Air with a 20 million dong (about $960) fine for holding the three-minute show without their seal of approval.

A company spokeswoman for the private airline refused to comment on the fine.
