A male youth is in custody and another is in hospital following a violent robbery in Winnipeg’s West End.

Winnipeg police were called to the 600 block of Spence Street around 9 p.m. on Sunday where they found a young man suffering from undisclosed injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Although initial media reports suggested the victim had been stabbed, the WPS said Monday he hadn’t been stabbed, but wouldn’t say what had caused his injuries.

The police wouldn’t say whether they’re looking for anyone else in connection to the robbery, and the investigation continues.
