The City of Winnipeg is asking Winnipeggers to keep away from the newly constructed Southwest Rapid Transit Corridor Transitway and to be careful at intersections along the corridor.
Winnipeg Transit is currently training drivers on the corridor, which is now active with test buses reaching speeds of 80 km per hour.
Transit began driver training on the new 3.6 km corridor’which spans from Queen Elizabeth Way and Stradbrook Avenue to Pembina Highway and Jubilee Avenue’in mid December last year.
Residents are asked to not trespass on the Transitway, and pedestrians, motorists and cyclists are asked to adhere to all signs and signals along the route.
The corridor is scheduled to officially open on April 8.
