Winnipeg police say a man who was found lying on the street on New Year’s Day was assaulted for his belongings.
Police said a 24-year-old man was found in a lane behind a hotel on Albert Street with extensive upper body injuries at about 5 a.m. Jan. 1. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but is now stable.
Police said the man had an extra large black Foot Locker 3/4 length winter jacket and a pair of black and white Nike Air Jordan shoes stolen.
Police said they are looking for two people of interest. The first is an Aboriginal male in his mid-20s, about 300 pounds and wearing black and white clothing. The second is an Aboriginal female in her mid-20s.
