Driver hits passenger with bus
A Winnipeg Transit driver has been charged after he allegedly hit a passenger with the bus he was operating.
Police said on Dec. 20, an 84-year-old man got off the bus at a stop near Chief Peguis Trail and Henderson Highway. At about 12:20 p.m., he was hit by the same bus. He was taken to hospital with serious lower-body injuries.
Winnipeg police have charged the 42-year-old male bus driver with criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Woman groped after getting off bus
A young woman was groped after getting off a bus in Old St. Vital.
Winnipeg police said the woman, 19, got off the bus near Fermor Avenue and St. Mary’s Road on Wednesday around 11:45 a.m. A man got off the bus behind her and followed.
The man then approached the woman and sexually assaulted her then fled the area. She was not injured.
Police are looking for an Asian male between 30-40 years old with an average build, wearing a short, heavy black jacket.
Men with knives rob St. Vital store
No one was hurt after a convenience store robbery in St. Vital Wednesday night.
Two men armed with knives walked into a convenience store on Autumnwood Drive at about 10, said police. The men stole cigarettes then fled the store.
They’re described as white, 17-25 years old, about 6 feet tall with medium builds and both wearing dark jackets.
