Relatives of a slain Winnipeg woman say they’re afraid police won’t try to find her body, which they have been told is likely in Brady Landfill.

Tanya Nepinak, 31, went missing in the fall of 2011. She is believed to have been a victim of an alleged serial killer.

Relatives have told media they have been told the search would cost upwards of $1 million with less than a one per cent chance of finding her. Nevertheless, they want police to try, they said.

Relatives held a small prayer session at the landfill last week.

Shawn Lamb has been charged with second-degree murder Nepinak’s death, along with the deaths of Lorna Blacksmith and Carolyn Sinclair.
