A rural Manitoba landfill was set on fire on Wednesday.

Swan River RCMP said they were called to the Swan River Landfill, along with the local fire department and emergency responders at about 7 a.m. There, they discovered the recycling facility had been set ablaze.

Damage is estimated at $750,000. Destroyed are the town-owned recycling building, the recycling truck, three fork lifts, a front-end loarder, compactor and two semi-trailers.

No one was injured. RCMP, along with the Dauphin Major Crimes Unit are investigating.
