A taser cartridge believed to be lost while an officer was on patrol has been found, and not on the street as previously believed.
Winnipeg police sent out a press release Sunday stating the cartridge and its pouch were dislodged from an officer’s service duty belt while on patrol in the North End.
“The electronic control device unit itself was not lost,” said Duty Inpsector Scot Halley in a press release. “This cartridge contains probes on wires which deploy when the device is discharged.”
However, the cartridge was found safely inside the police station later that day.
