Drug and weapon arrest
A man is facing numerous charges after police stumbled upon a cache of drugs and weapons while investigating a stolen vehicle in St. James Tuesday.
Officers attended a residence in the 400 block of Ferry Road around 9:25 p.m. and arrested an adult male in connection to the stolen vehicle.
While arresting the man officers observed a quantity of marijuana within the home, which resulted in a search warrant being executed.
Police found and seized 1.5 kg of marijuana with an estimated street value of $15,000, a shotgun and handgun with ammunition, brass knuckles, and $7,500 cash.
Lorne Wayne Corlett, 43, has been charged with 10 separate drug and weapon related charges and was detained in custody.
Robbery suspect sought
Police are looking for a man who robbed a Munroe West area convenience store early Wednesday.
Officers were called to the store around 1:30 a.m. after a lone male suspect confronted the 26-year-old male clerk and demanded smokes.
The suspect fled the store after receiving an undisclosed amount of cigarettes.
The employee was not injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as aboriginal, 25-30 years of age, 5’7” tall, 155-175 lbs. with a medium build and was clean-shaven.

Police are asking for the public’s help tracking down two suspects after two men—one armed with a knife—robbed a Henderson Highway business early Wednesday.
Officers responded to a convenience store in the 1800 block of Henderson Highway around 5:50 a.m. after two male suspects confronted the 52-year-old female clerk with a knife.
The men fled the store with a quantity of cigarettes and no was injured in the incident.
The first suspect is described as aboriginal in his late 30’s or early 40’s, with a heavy build and a pocked mark face.
The second suspect is also aboriginal in appearance.
