A tense situation in the city’s west end — involving reports of a man barricaded inside his home with a gun — was resolved without further incident Friday afternoon.

At around 11 a.m., police say they received an anonymous tip that a man was outside on Peter St. with a gun. A number of police cars and members of the Windsor police tactical squad were dispatched to the scene.

Four hours later, a man was called out of the apartment building and taken into custody said Staff Sgt. Todd Cox.

Upon further investigation, police say the man was released without being charged.
