Police are searching for two suspects after an escalating road rage incident ended with a laser assault.
The victim was traveling westbound in the fast lane of Hwy. 1 at No.3 Road on Feb. 27 around 4 p.m. when a grayish-colour Audi with a B.C. licence plate passed her in the right lane, according to a B.C. RCMP news release.
Both the Audi’s driver, a woman with dark brown hair in her early 20s, and passenger, a man with a large build and fair hair shaved on the sides also in his 20s, flipped the bird to the victim. The driver also flashed her high beams numerous times.
When the driver pulled in front of the victim, the passenger stuck his head through the sunroof to spit on the victim’s windshield.
The man then sat down and pointed a green laser at the victim’s eyes, preventing her from seeing her surroundings and potentially damaging her eyes.
The victim lost sight of the speeding Audi around Clearbrook Road in Abbotsford.
Police ask anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or its occupants in the “unusual” assault to call Const. Lee Keane of Fraser Valley Traffic Services at 604-869-1397 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8777.
