Six men have been implicated in an elaborate kidnapping ring.

British Columbia’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit announced Tuesday that six people are facing charges after being caught allegedly committing a kidnapping while under surveillance by the gang task force.

Supt. Tom McCluskie told media that the suspects allegedly sought out victims for profit, tracked their vehicles with GPS devices and then violently abducted them.

It was during one of these incidents that police swooped in and arrested the suspects.

“Those who pose the greatest threat to public safety get the most attention,” said McCluskie. “The arrests of these individuals lands right at the top of where we need to be.”

All six men have been charged with a count each of kidnapping with a firearm with the intent to cause harm, assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
