Police say they’re investigating a fight that broke out between costumed revelers at a pho restaurant early Saturday morning.
A video shot at Pho Xe Lua on Spadina Avenue at about 3 a.m. Saturday shows a fight break out between two women before several other people join in. At one point, someone wearing a police “swat” Halloween costume throws a plate across the restaurant, hitting one woman in the face.
Police with 14 division said no one called them that night, but they did receive a complaint on Sunday morning, which they are investigating.
On Monday, investigators asked the public for help identifying the plate-thrower, who they described as a man aged 20 to 25, five feet eight to five feet nine inches tall, with a muscular build and multi-coloured tattoos on his left bicep. He was clean-shaven, with short black hair.
Police said a woman in her 20′s was struck in the face and her injuries required medical attention.
Eric, a local student who filmed the fight, said it appeared to have broken out because of a lack of seating in the crowded restaurant.
As of Sunday afternoon, the video had received over 10,000 views. As of Monday at noon, it had received over 250,000.
