Opening just after Christmas and direct from Broadway is a musical inspired by the iconic rock band Green Day and their 2004 concept album, American Idiot.
The rock-musical uses almost all of the music from the 2004 album as it weaves together a familiar story of suburban Americana.
American Idiot follows the lives of three disaffected suburbanite friends, Johnny, Will and Tunny, who decide to travel to the big city in search of meaning beyond their current apathetic state.
Singing some of the iconic songs from Green Day’s album, including: Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Holiday and the titular track, Johnny, Will and Tunny find hope through love.
American Idiot kicks off its touring production at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.
It’s a rock ‘n’ roll musical that Green Day fans as well as lovers of innovative Broadway musicals won’t want to miss.
