Takeru Kobayashi, also known as Kobi, stunned the world in July by wolfing down 69 hotdogs in 10 minutes ‘ an unofficial world record.

The power eater is the defending champ at PIE-Wood Fired Pizza Joint’s second annual pizza pie eating contest to be held in Barrie on Aug. 21.

Kobayashi aims to not only break his own record of 40 slices in 12 minutes (10 full pizzas) but vows to set a new world record.

His main opponent is Toronto’s “Furious” Pete Czerwinski, who has set a few chow-down records of his own and plans to keep the trophy in Canada.
