GO service on the Barrie line has partially resumed as police continue to investigate the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a train in Newmarket.

York Regional Police say a man between the ages of 25-30 was hit by the train around 6:15 a.m. near Davis Dr. and Bayview Parkway, suspending service on the line entirely for about two hours. GO arranged shuttle buses for commuters stranded at Newmarket station and GO tickets were also valid on vehicles operated by York Region Transit and the TTC.
