"I am scared." Elaine Kim, who said she and her friend Ayaka Fukuhara had just signed a lease to move into the neighbourhood.

Toronto police believe there is a sexual predator prowling North York, violently attacking women, often in broad daylight.

The idea sends goosebumps up Elaine Kim’s arms as she stands in the leafy walkway off Averill Crescent near Yonge Street and Finch Avenue W. The shortcut from Finch subway station was the scene of a violent sexual assault on July 11. Both Kim and her friend Ayaka Fukuhara are similar to the victims of the predator ‘ five out of six were Asian women between 20 and 39.

Four of the attacks occurred in the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area, one was west of Yonge Street on Finch Avenue and another at Don Mills and Finch Avenue.

The assaults mostly occurred in daylight, between 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. One took place at 1:30 a.m. The man approaches the women from behind and sexually assaults them.

The person of interest is described as Asian, 20 to 25 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8, with short, black hair and clean shaven.
