A total of 19 baby bunnies from four different litters who recently came under Toronto Animal Services protection will soon be available for adoption.
Toronto Animal Services supervisor Mary Lou Leiher said three of the litters were found abandoned at a city apartment building and the fourth litter was found under a house porch. The seven baby bunnies in the porch litter are about 10 days old and haven’t yet opened their eyes.
Two of the rabbits from one litter are three months old and will be available for adoption after being spayed this week.
The other litters, including four two-month-old bunnies and six one-month-old bunnies, are still nursing with their mothers and are in foster care.
The rabbits cannot be adopted until they’re three months old, when they can be spayed and fixed, but potential adopters can express interest on Toronto Animal Service’s Facebook page. The mother rabbits will also be spayed and available for adoption.
