HARBOURFRONT: Events running from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. include making a 300-layer cake to get into the Guinness World Record, canoe rides around the The Natrel Pond, YTV’s W.O.W. tour, craft making, a North American native hoop dance performed by world champion hoop dancer Lisa Odjig of the Ojibwe Nation, a storytelling and celebration dance, film screenings, and musical performances by Luke Doucet & The White Falcon, and Esthero.

MEL LASTMAN SQUARE: Musical performances by Canadian bands at 8 p.m. conclude with fireworks choreographed to music. Free, 5100 Yonge St.

YONGE-DUNDAS SQUARE:
Community Folk Art Council of Toronto presents First Nations’ dancing at noon and then other international dance groups. Bollywood dance party starts at 7 p.m., Yonge and Dundas.

ONTARIO PLACE: Pyrotechnics choreographed to Canadian music. The show begins at 10:30 p.m. Free with admission to Ontario Place.

SUNNYSIDE PAVILLION: Canada Day Picnic. Join house music lovers at the beach with a lineup of local and international talent. 1 to 11 p.m.

CENTENNIAL PARK: Toronto Ribfest with 13 barbecue masters competing for bragging rights for the “best ribs.” There will also be several local musical acts and a haunted house. June 30 to July 3, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Free admission.
