Metro/Carrie-May Siggins Levi Blind is charged with one count of attempted murder after an altercation sent another 19-year-old to the hospital Sunday night.

The Regina Police are currently holding the scene at a residence in the 2100 block of Atkinson Ave, as both police and the Chief Coroner have ruled the death of an 81-year old woman suspicious.

According to Kaeli Decelles, social media officer with the Regina Police Service, officers were dispatched to the residence after a 911 call was received Wednesday evening.

“We got a 911 call Wednesday night just after 9 p.m. from neighbors of the residence in the 2100 block of Atkinson St. and that lead to two officers being dispatched to the scene,” said Decelles.

She said details of what happened when officers arrived at the scene are part of an ongoing investigation, but added, “When they were dispatched they found an 81-year old female who was deceased.”

When asked if there was any blood or indication of trauma on the scene Decelles said, “The death has not been ruled foul-play yet, that’s part of the autopsy and that’s part of the investigation, but the office of the Chief Coroner in conjunction with the Regina Police have ordered an autopsy.”

The police are asking anyone who has information on the incident or if anyone in the area witnessed anything suspicious in the last two-weeks to contact the Regina Police at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222 8477.

Decelles said how long the woman was deceased for before police arrived will be determined by the autopsy, scheduled for tomorrow morning in Winnipeg.
