Senators Sports and Entertainment revealed these images of their proposed OLG casino near the Canadian Tire Centre in a presentation to the city’s finance and economic development committee Monday.

The planned gaming facility would be from 150,000 to 200,000 square feet. It would anchor, along with the stadium, a “Capital Entertainment District,” including 800 hotel rooms, 900 residential units and 300,000 feet of retail space. The entire development, according to the presentation, would amount to over 2 million square feet and more than $500 million in capital investment.

Rideau Carleton Raceway spokesman Alex Lawryk said that while concept drawings have been done for the racetrack’s competing proposal, confidentiality terms in the OLG selection process don’t allow them to be revealed at this time.

“If I could give you the pictures, I would,” he said. “They’re provocative, they’re beautiful and they fit into the community fabric that’s being built out there.”
