METRO/JOE LOFARO Ottawa Senators President Cyril Leeder talks to media about the NHL lockout and resulting layoffs for some full time staff at Scotiabank Place.

The contract dispute between NHL players and team owners is hurting more than millionaires, the Ottawa Senators president revealed Monday — some full-time staff at the stadium have been laid off as a result.

Team president Cyril Leeder wouldn’t say how many people had been laid off, only noting that it was a “significant number,” and “more than 10.”

Leeder told media some other staff have mored to a four-day work week. The layoffs took effect today.

Ticket sales slowed down over the past couple of weeks once there was talk of a possible lockout, Leeder said.
