Ottawa police have charged two men in connection with a home invasion on Sunday that left two occupants with minor injuries.
Two suspects broke into a Bells Corners home situated at the 0-100 block of Forester Crescent Sunday, at about 8:40 a.m., police said.
Two intruders — one of whom was armed with a knife — confronted one of the occupants who managed to escape by jumping off a second storey window. Police said a second occupant was assaulted before fleeing the home.
One of the residents called 911 and officers picked up both suspects nearby.
Both residents suffered minor injuries that did not require additional attention at the time, officers said.
James Harkness, 22, and Chad Lemoine, 20, face a string of charges that include robbery with an offensive weapon, break and enter, assault, and possession of dangerous weapons.
Both men appeared in court on Monday and were held in custody. Their next court date is scheduled for Thursday.
