Some of Canada’s hottest actors and actresses mingled in the nation’s capital as they got red-carpet-ready for last night’s 31st Genie Awards at the NAC.
Actor David Paetkau chatted with fellow Vancouverite Kristin Kreuk who still had curlers in her hair inside the Starfish Celebrity Gift Lounge at The Arc Hotel. Other Canadian celebrities like Jessica Lucas, George Stroumboulopoulos and Shannon Tweed inundated the downtown hotel before heading out to the red carpet.
“I’m looking forward to it, just being in there and seeing everybody,” said Kreuk. “There are a lot of people in the audience that I know, that I’ve worked with and like very much.”
She was to be joined by Barney’s Version star Bruce Greenwood to help open the show after William Shatner.
Gordon Pinsent checked out some local Canadian products inside the Celebrity Gift Lounge before getting his hair done. Pinsent is presenting the award for best director tonight and shared his wish for who he wants to take home the prize.
“Denis Villeneuve for Incendies. I thought it was terrific,” he said.
