Western’s football team had made its way to the top of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport rankings.

The undefeated Mustangs jumped to first place in the Top 10 after Saturday’s 50-31 win over the Queen’s Gaels.  It’s the first time the team has earned the No. 1 ranking since 2011.

Laval (5-0), which earned last week’s top spot, has fallen to second. Calgary, Guelph and Queen’s round out the top five.

The Mustangs travel to Windsor on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
