Halloween may not be for another five months, but those who love ghosts, goblins and vampires are in for a treat starting Thursday.
That’s when the second annual Canadian Haunted Attractions Convention arrives in the Forest City for a four-day conference.
Held at the London Convention Centre, up to 20 exhibitors and vendors will be on-hand to tantalize Halloween and horror fanatics alike.
“It’s probably nothing like London has seen before. It’s the only event of its kind in Canada,” said organizer Matthew Flagler. “There’s a lot to see and do. You could easily spend an afternoon at the convention centre and not be bored.”
Hobnobbing with demonologist Suzy Lewis or checking out Dark Justice – one of the world’s largest private collections of medieval torture devices – or chatting with the Ontario Ghostbusters are just a few of the things to explore.
Why was London picked to host the convention? Flagler said accessibility – thanks to the airport and Highway 401 – was key, but southwestern Ontario is also a hotbed when it comes to haunted attractions.
“If you looked at a list that we’ve created, out of 150 haunted attractions, about 50 are in southwestern Ontario,” Flagler said.
