Police say there are people who know what happened in the murder of a 19-year-old Dartmouth woman last January but are refusing to come forward.
Keya Simon was stabbed to death on Jan. 8, 2011, in the early morning hours.
“There were a number of people present when she was killed and those people haven’t come forward with the information they have,” said Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter. “We believe there are people who know exactly what happened.”
The 19-year-old was at a party at her sister’s apartment on Pinecrest Drive in Dartmouth when a group of people known to them arrived. An altercation ensued, spilling out onto the apartment lawn, with Simon and her 32-year-old sister both stabbed.
Simon was pronounced dead at the scene. Her sister was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
