Two funeral services will be taking place this week for Raylene Rankin.

The Mabou native died Sunday in Halifax after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 52.

A member of the renowned Rankin Family — alongside her siblings John Morris, Jimmy, Cookie and Heather — Raylene is being remembered not only for her distinct voice and musical talent, but also for her generous spirit and zest for life.

The first funeral will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church on Oxford Street , and the second funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Mabou.
