Halifax police say a 25-year-old Dartmouth man is facing a charge of stunting for allegedly being clocked in excess of 225 kilometres per hour on Highway 103 near Timberlea on Friday around 9 p.m..
Officers were conducting a speed check in the area and stopped a 2007 Jeep Cherokee driven by the 25-year-old.
The driver has been suspended from driving for one week and his vehicle has been impounded for at least seven days. If convicted, the driver faces a minimum fine of $2,400 and loses six points from his license.
