HALIFAX – Nova Scotia RCMP say human remains found earlier this week are those of Melissa Dawn Peacock.
Police say the determination was made by the province’s medical examiner through the use of dental records.
Police say Peacock left her Halifax home on Nov. 7 and it was believed she travelled to the small community of Gore, about 60 kilometres northwest of Halifax, later that day.
She was reported missing on Nov. 9.
Twenty-four-year-old Dustan Joseph Preeper of Halifax was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in Peacock’s death.
Twenty-year-old Joshua Michael Preeper of Kennetcook also faces a first-degree murder charge in the case.
