The last stop in the government’s provincial tour on the province’s finances ends in Edmonton on Saturday.
The government is looking for people to come out to the last of a series of town hall meetings on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Chateau Louis Hotel & Conference Centre on Kingsway Avenue.
Finance minister Doug Horner said the meetings so far have lead to some pretty clear directions.
“The consensus pieces we have heard so far are that health and education are high priorities, and that fiscal prudence is a high priority. They want us to make sure we are getting value for the money,” he said Thursday.
Horner said people understand the province’s fiscal picture.
“Albertans are a lot more fiscally astute then people give them credit for. They understand what it means to build for the future because they do this in their homes.”
