Wayne Perepelitz planned ahead to cheer on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Super Bowl Sunday.
“I took tomorrow off. I learned my lesson last year,” said the longtime Patriots fan, while watching his team tackle the New York Giants from The Pint downtown.
A die-hard fan since 1994, he had a vested interest in the rematch.
“I have a lot of money riding on this,” he said.
Besties Candice Mitchell, Kelly Gillies and Jessica Petryshyn welcomed Super Bowl XLVI with a chance to hoist some drinks and support Tom Brady, proving football’s not just for fellas.
Mitchell, sporting matching Brady jerseys with Petryshyn, was rooting for New England.
“We are Brady fans,” said Mitchell.
Across the bar, Carley Bordian proudly wore her Giants jersey while munching on pub grub with gal pal Jessica Bercha.
“I have been a fan of New York for a long time,” said Bordian. “Especially Eli Manning.”
Steve Nimchuk and Clark Dalton have watched the game together for decades, but after their preferred watering hole, Martini’s, closed last year, they found themselves at The Pint Sunday.
“We always have a pool,” said Dalton. “We’re four-to-two right now (for a Patriots win).”
Nimchuk said while he prefers the Grey Cup, the Super Bowl is “fun to watch.”
