Free flu shots became available Monday at Influenza Immunization Clinics across the province, including in Edmonton.

The vaccine is available to all Albertans six months of age and older.

The shot has been free since 2009, but Alberta Health Services says many are still not getting it, as they do not think they are high risk.

Last year, about 850,000 Albertans got the shot.

Immunizations are also available at some pharmacies and doctor’s offices, and some clinics are even testing the efficiency of providing the vaccine through nasal spray.
