What’s a fair name for Edmonton’s annual fair?

The contest to rename Northland’s annual summer celebration of rides, games, food, music and more – currently known as Capital Ex – kicked off at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Edmontonians can go online to CapitalEx.ca (and click on “Name Your Fair”) or on-site at Northlands to submit their ideas.

The deadline for submissions is June 29. A panel of judges will select six finalists, who will then enter the voting round from July 10 to 28.

When Northlands announced the move to change the fair’s name last month, many Edmontonians took to Twitter to say they should revert the name back to Klondike Days.
