FREDERICTON – Highlights of New Brunswick throne speech presented Tuesday:
— An oil and natural gas blueprint will be delivered to set out steps to proceed with shale gas development.
— NB Power will be directed to find the best options to seek compensation from Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. for the $1 billion in cost overruns for the refurbishment of the Point Lepreau nuclear power generator.
— A ministerial committee on jobs and the economy will be established to monitor economic performance and recommend changes to government policy.
— A three-year capital budget to be tabled during this session.
— A five-year provincial health plan will be developed and implemented next year.
