SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Police in Saint John, N.B., have arrested a 27-year-old man following an attack on a woman in the city’s Rockwood Park.

Sgt. Jay Henderson says a 26-year-old woman was jogging on one of the park’s main trails Wednesday evening when she was confronted by a man with a nylon stocking over his face, and brandishing a knife.

Henderson says the woman was able to push her attacker and run away before calling police.

He says she was not hurt.

Henderson says officers quickly surrounded the park and arrested a man.

The suspect is due to appear in court in Saint John today to face charges.
