NATUASHISH, N.L. – Newfoundland and Labrador police are investigating after two men broke into a school in Natuashish with an axe on Saturday.

Police say they also used the axe to break into secured offices, although it’s unclear if anything was taken.

Surveillance videos show two males, one with an axe and the other with an iron bar.

Both had their heads and faces covered with a mask.

Police say an adult male has been arrested after an initial investigation and he has been remanded in custody until a bail hearing Monday morning.

Damage to the school is estimated at around $3,000.
