ANGLO RUSTICO, P.E.I. – RCMP are investigating after a motorcyclist was rear-ended and assaulted on a P.E.I. highway.
Officers received a report Monday of a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Route 6 in Anglo Rustico.
In a press release, police say they determined the car hit the bike before the driver started assaulting the male motorcyclist.
They say the victim was taken to hospital, but the release did not elaborate on his injuries.
Police say 33-year-old Stephen Sampson of North Rustico faces a charge of assault with a weapon in connection with the incident.
No one from the RCMP was available for further comment.
