HALIFAX – Halifax police have upgraded charges against a man accused in the fatal stabbing of a 77-year-old woman in April.

Investigators initially charged 41-year-old John Jason Salah of Halifax with attempted murder, aggravated assault land possession of a weapon in the death of Norma Jean Salah.

She was found stabbed inside a home on April 28 and died a week later in hospital.

The accused is now charged with second-degree murder.
