The Calgary Fiddlers are heading to Banff to perform on Live! with Kelly when the show tapes there next month.

A few young fiddlers are tuning up their instruments to get ready for the millions who will be tuning in when they perform on national television.

The Calgary Fiddlers will play on Live! with Kelly when the show tapes next month in Banff.

The group is made up of 15 fiddlers, all between the ages of 14 and 18.

“I’m just so excited about it. Lots of times when I come home I watch Kelly Ripa’s show,” said Renna Traboulsi, 16, of the Calgary Fiddlers.

The teens will be taping their segment on April 1, and the show will air between April 2 and 5.
Nolana Baillargeon, the group’s artistic director, said she is excited by the exposure for the Calgary Fiddlers.

“This is the biggest promotional thing that we have done, especially with 3.5 million people watching us,” she said.

Brett Rowan, 16, has been a member of the Calgary Fiddlers for two years and is the public-relations representative for the group.

“We were contacted through an agent at the New York production company and they asked us if we want to represent Calgary and area. This is really a huge deal for us,” he said.

Nicole Evans, 17, is one of the senior members in the group. This is her fourth and final year with the Fiddlers.

“It’s really exciting to have an opportunity like this in my final year with the group,” she said.

The Calgary Fiddlers’ next performance, titled Sweet on Fiddlin’, is on April 23 at the Jubilations Dinner Theatre in Calgary.
