It was a close race for a couple of aldermen including Ward 7 alderman Druh Farrell.

Farrell said she “expected it to be a close race” and thinks the number of voters who turned out is fantastic.

Her theory?

“I think the biggest factor is the boundary changes and there are new communities in my ward and we don’t know each other yet. But I am excited to get to know them,” she told Metro Tuesday.

Farrell beat out her nearest contender Kevin Taylor by just over a thousand votes.

“It’s really exciting and I’m looking forward to working with the new council,” she added.
